BridgeX turns your iPhone into a mouse and keyboard for your Mac. Remote control requires no account or external server. The developer does not receive commands, typed text, device names, pairing keys or usage history. The app contains no advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs.
Local connection
Mouse, gesture and keyboard commands are encrypted and sent directly between your iPhone and Mac over Bluetooth LE or your home network. Other devices cannot control your Mac without pairing. Text entered into a Mac app is then handled by that app under its own policies.
Pairing and preferences
Device identifiers, paired-device names, keys and access tokens are stored locally in the system Keychain. The Mac also stores pairing dates and its list of trusted phones. Interface, sensitivity, gesture and connection preferences are stored locally in UserDefaults. The iPhone uses a random installation identifier to reconnect; no advertising identifier is used.
Typed text
BridgeX does not write typed text to disk or send it to the developer. The last 512 characters of the current typing session are held temporarily in iPhone memory so you can check for typos. The preview clears when you close the keyboard, leave the app for the background or disconnect. It does not read existing Mac field contents or record the screen.
Permissions
The iPhone camera reads pairing QR codes locally; images are not saved. You can enter a pairing code manually instead. Bluetooth and local-network access are used to discover and connect your Mac. Accessibility permission on the Mac allows mouse and keyboard commands to run. You can revoke these permissions in system settings.
Deletion and revocation
Choose Forget Mac in iPhone settings to remove its stored Mac pairing. Choose Revoke access beside the phone on your Mac to remove that phone from the trusted list and close its active connection. Do both to remove pairing data from both devices. The random installation identifier and host identity may remain in Keychain after app deletion; uninstalling alone does not guarantee Keychain cleanup.
Support and external pages
The app does not automatically send diagnostic reports. If you choose to contact support, the information you provide is used to respond. Do not send pairing codes, keys or passwords. When you open a support or privacy page in a browser, the website and its hosting provider may receive ordinary technical HTTP request information; BridgeX does not send the contents of your remote-control session to them.
